Early Years Apprentice

EARLY YEARS APPRENTICE (vac ref – Ear29057)

COMPANY DESCRIPTION:

Children’s day nursery located in Coatbridge

Hours are 42.5 per week (includes 2.5 hours unpaid breaks) Shift work between 0700 -1800 Mon-Fri

Pay rate is apprenticeship rate - £6.40 per hour

The successful candidate will work towards a SVQ Level 7 in Childcare and Social Services

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Providing a caring and nurturing environment for preschool children to learn and thrive; Work as part of a close team of early years practitioners and modern apprentices; Complete a SVQ Level 7 in Childcare and Social Services

Essential criteria: Must have good communication skills; Must be enthusiastic to pursue a career in childcare; Must be able to relate to children and able to acquire skills to communicate appropriately to parents and other adults; Must be keen to learn; Candidates must be aged 16-21 years due to the training providers funding; The role will require the successful candidate to register with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC); The role will be subject to a PVG check.
